Why the Social Studies Needs Her Poets

For those of you who were wondering what the heck I’m focusing on in grad school, here is a quick 3-minute explanation of my Master’s thesis from my time at Baylor entitled: Why the Social Studies Need Her Poets: A Case for Spoken Word Poetry in the Social Studies Classroom. I know that as I embark on my time at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I will be provided with the best resources to continue exploring my passion for poetry as a pedagogical tool in the social studies classroom.

Peace,

LB

  1. This is awesome. I met your mom at the Women That Soar Awards Luncheon last weekend. She told me about your work as was as proud as the sky is wide. Now that I’ve visited your site, I can clearly see the reason of her pride. Way to go, girl!
